Apparently, once wasn’t enough.
Sometimes, paths need to cross twice before you realize there might be something worth paying attention to. Ours certainly did.
We first met at 16, on the benches of high school, where our relationship consisted mostly of mathematical theorems and not much else.
A few years passed. Degrees were earned, relationships happened, places were travelled, lives were lived — and then, somehow, we met again at L’Atelier Cocktail.
Serendipity, apparently.
What drew us together was a shared curiosity about pretty much everything, a love of gardening and the arts, and a slightly questionable enthusiasm for untangling human relationships.
But perhaps more importantly, we recognized in each other the same instinct for a pas de côté — a shared feeling that being a couple today doesn’t necessarily have to mean two kids, a house, a dog and a mortgage.
So we set out, with perhaps excessive enthusiasm, to define for ourselves what love, partnership and building a life together could look like.
And that turned out to be quite an adventure.
Why Champex?
To celebrate this next chapter, there was really only one place we could imagine bringing you all together.
Champex and Chez-les-Reuses have been part of Julien’s life for many years — a place of friendships, long tables, mountain air and countless memories.
Today, we’re slowly creating our own little nook there, hoping to continue that tradition: opening the door, gathering people we love, feeding them well and creating memories that last.
It felt only right that this should also be the place where we get married.
Over the coming months, we’ll add a few of our favourite places, walks, swims, meals and discoveries around Champex here — should you feel like exploring during your free time.
Or doing absolutely nothing.
Both are highly encouraged.
The Program
Friday 7pm — Settle in & say hello
The festivities begin on Friday evening with an informal ice-breaker dinner.
Nothing too ceremonial just yet — simply a chance to settle in, get your bearings, meet a few new faces, reunite with old ones and ease gently into the weekend.
Come as you are. Hungry helps.
Saturday 4pm — The Day!
The morning and early afternoon are yours.
Sleep in, wander around the lake, explore Champex’s botanical garden, have a long lunch — or, for the suspiciously energetic among you, hike up to the Belvédère and earn a few calories in advance.
Then, it’s time.
The ceremony will begin at 4pm at Hôtel Splendide.
From there, we’ll move seamlessly into cocktails, dinner and — most importantly — THE PARTY.
Hydration and sensible footwear remain entirely your responsibility.
Sunday — One last meal
Before we send you back down the mountain, let’s gather one last time for brunch at Hôtel Splendide.
Coffee, something comforting, a little debrief of the night before and, hopefully, only moderately tired faces.
Then hugs, goodbyes and journeys home — while we quietly wonder how three days went by quite so quickly.
Dress Code
Friday — Come as you are
No particular dress code for Friday — come as you are, come comfortable, and come ready to settle into mountain life.
We’ll keep things relaxed as we arrive, catch up, have a drink and ease into the weekend.
Just remember: we’ll be in the Alps. Even in June, evenings can get surprisingly fresh, so bring an extra layer for when the sun disappears behind the mountains.
Saturday — Dress up, have fun
Think colorful, joyful and elegant — without taking it all too seriously.
Suits are welcome, but by no means compulsory. We’d much rather see you have fun with it: colorful coord sets, matching shirts and trousers, light cotton sets, playful prints — whatever feels like your version of mountain wedding chic.
And yes, if your outfit happens to look suspiciously like very fancy pajamas, you’re probably doing it right.
And remember, there will be dancing.
Sunday — Come as you can
By Sunday, we’ll have danced, eaten, celebrated and hopefully made a few questionable decisions. So there’s no dress code — come as you are, come as you feel, or simply come as you can.
The plan is simple: take it slow, enjoy one last day together, and recover at whatever pace feels right.
Comfortable, casual, slightly dishevelled — all perfectly acceptable.
And if you’re still wearing Saturday’s outfit… we promise not to judge.
Leisure time — Mountain essentials
Whether you find yourself on a trail, by the lake or simply enjoying a long afternoon on the terrace, we recommend packing a few essentials:
hiking or walking shoes, sunscreen, a swimsuit and something warm.
Because in the Alps, you never quite know what the day has in mind.

Where should I stay?
Please make sure to complete your RSVP by October 1st!
We’ve already booked and negotiated special rates with Hotel Splendide, Hotel du Glacier and Hotel Belvédère, all within walking distance of the venue.
In your RSVP, simply let us know whether you’d like us to count you in for one of these three hotels.
There are also a few Airbnbs around Champex-Lac if you’d prefer your own space. And for those who believe that a wedding weekend calls for five-star levels of recovery, there’s always Le Club Alpin — the local palace for those who like their mountain escape with a little more luxury.

How do I get there?
Champex-Lac is around two hours from Geneva, and you can reach us by car or public transport.
By car
Approximately 2 hours from Geneva. If you’re coming on Friday, we recommend leaving before 3 pm to avoid the worst of the traffic.
By train & bus
From Genève-Cornavin, take the train to Orsières. From there, catch Bus 271 towards Champex, Télésiège and get off at Champex, Le Signal.
And then you’re there. Welcome to the mountains.

What will the weather be like?
Early June in the Alps usually means beautifully warm days and cooler evenings — although, as we’ve established, the mountains like to keep us guessing.
We recommend bringing a jacket or something warm for the evening, and checking MeteoSwiss closer to the wedding for the most accurate forecast.

Your presence is genuinely the best present. So no gift list, no registry, no need to bring anything except yourselves.
If, however, you’re the kind of person who simply cannot turn up empty-handed, we’re currently pouring a questionable amount of love (and money) into renovating the barn. Contributions towards the renovation will be accepted.
